The phosphoric acid, lime, fine particles, potash, etc that are present or found in the alluvial soil makes this soil very fertile.

Also, sand, clay and silt also makes up this soil. The formation of soil is due to the sediments which comes flowing through the rivers.

It is a very good soil for growing of crops. It is rich in nutrients as well as minerals.

Alluvial soil is fertile  because it contains alluvium. The alluvium is a material deposited by the rivers along its course in the lower regions, forming extensive deltas and flood plains.

The alluvium is made up of silt, sand, clay, and gravel. Alluvial soil is also rich in phosphoric acid, potash, and lime. The soil also has good water-absorbing and water retention capacity.

The rivers constantly replenish the soils. Almost all the significant crops can grow in alluvial soil like wheat, rice, sugarcane, etc.
