What makes the child doubt the existence of hell and heaven

Lack of religious indoctrination. Children will not normally conjure up God, Heaven and Hell. They need to be taught these falsehoods. While it's normal for a child to doubt such beliefs, continued teachings by family and friends will eventually lead to the child becoming a believer. A small number of children will resist believing what is counterintuitive; they will become atheists.
