Sunlight reaches Earth's atmosphere and is scattered in all directions by all the gases and particles in the air. Blue light is scattered more than the other colors because it travels as shorter, smaller waves. This is why we see a blue sky most of the time.

Answer:

The molecules of air and other fine particles in the atmosphere have size smaller than the wavelength of visible light. the red light has a wavelength about 1.8 times than blue light. thus, when sunlight passes through the atmosphere, the fine particles scatter blue colour more strongly than red.this is why sky appear blue.

hope it will help you
