Required Answer :

The mass of the object = 25000 kg

Given :

• Momentum of an object = 1.5 × 10⁶ kgm/s

• Velocity of the object = 60 m/s

To find :

• Mass of the object

Solution :

The formula of momentum :-

  • p = m × v

where,

  • p denotes the momentum
  • m denotes the mass
  • v denotes the velocity

Substituting the given values :-

→ 1.5 × 10⁶ = m × 60

→ (1.5 × 10⁶) ÷ 60 = m

→ (15 × 10⁶) ÷ 60 × 10 = m

Cancelling the zeros :-

→ (15 × 10⁴) ÷ 6 = m

→ 2.5 × 10⁴ = m

→ (25 × 10⁴) ÷ 10 = m

→ 25 × 10³ = m

→ 25 × 1000 = m

→ 25000 = m

Therefore, the mass of the object = 25000 kg
