NH3 + O2 = NO + H2O

1. Balance the equation:

4 NH3 + 5O2 = 4 NO + 6H2O

2. Once balanced, determine the moles:

NH3 = 4
O2 = 5
NO = 4
H2O = 6

3. Stoichiometry:

19 g NH3 * 1 mol NH3/ 17 g (atomic mass) NH3 * 5 mol O2 / 4 mol NH3 * 32 g O2/1 Mol O2 =

3040/68 = 44.70 g O2
