What mass of salt must be

added to 500 gm of water to

make 20% salt solution

Answer:

Mass of water=500g

concentration of solution = 20 %

let mass of salt required be x gm,

since concentration of solution = (mass of solute / mass of solution) × 100

therefore, ATQ, (x/x+500)×100=20

on solving, x/x+500=1/5

                   5x=x+500

                    4x=500

                     x=500/4

                     x= 125 g

MASS OF SALT=125 g
