by the law of conservation of mass given by Lavoisier we have,

mass of reactant= mass of product

mass of(silver nitrate+sodium chloride)

=mass of (silver chloride+sodium nitrate)

Therefore,mass of silver nitrate (x)+5.05g=(14.35+8.5)g

x+5.05=22.85

x=22.85-5.05

x=17.80g
