Tooth decay starts when PH value of mouth is lower than 5.5 . This is because the excess acid reacts with calcium phosphate of the tooth enamel and causes it's corrosion .. Bacteria present in mouth produce acids by the degradation of sugar and food particles remaining in the mouth after eating .In the order to prevent tooth decay , clean the mouth after eating food and use basic tooth paste to neutralise the excess acids present in mouth ..
