Secularism is a concept which treats all religions equally.

• In a Secular state, there will be no discrimination on the basis of religion.

• A secular state does not encourage or discourage any particular religion.

• People in a secular state are allowed to profess, practise and propagate any religion.

• India adopted the Secularism after Independence.

• The word "Secular" was included in preamble of our Indian Constitution.

• However, it was included by the 42nd amendment in 1976.

Article 25(b) states that all religions are treated equally.
