@Srushtijadhav2006 have explained you what is a chemical reaction.

Let me explain you what are some information's regarding chemical equation:

1) You should write the states in which reactants are taken and in which product are obtained.

2) You should write the information about the catalyst used if taken.

3) Temperature and Pressure should also be mentioned if given.

4) Most important is that equations should be balanced.

5) And you should write the heat changes also.

For example if it is a endothermic reaction means heat is absorbed then you should write ( + Heat ) in reactants side.

And if exothermic write ( + Heat ) in products side.

It is my own language and not well defined so use NCERT to write in exams and for explanation you can read it.
