Neutral Reaction can be simply defined as a reaction that is applied for indicating the absence of acidic/alkaline properties(generally expressed as pH 7.0).
For example:
- In a reaction in water, neutralization results in there being no excess of hydrogen or hydroxide ions present in the solution. The pH of the neutralized solution depends on the acid strength of the reactants. starts high and remains almost constant until all alkali neutralised then falls very rapidly to low value, continues almost level as excess acid added
