The hermit never entertained the wealthy. He always mixed only among the poor public. The king knew very well that the hermit would never give any response to him due to his kingliness. Hence, he took very careful measures, such as changing his appearance, leaving his kingly attire, speaking softly like any other common man, so that the hermit believes that he's just an ordinary man and would answer his questions.
