1)The use of more expensive white flour was forbidden; all citizens were required to eat the pain d'egalite(equality bread), a loaf made of whole wheat.
2) Instead of the traditional Monsieur and Madame all French man and women were henceforth Citoyen and Citoyenne (Citizen).
3)Govt. issued laws placing a max. ceiling on wages and prices.
4) Meat and bread were rationed
