what medicines will doctor prescribes to treat acidity

doctor will prescribe an alkaline solution like an indigestion powder (or you could eat bicarbonate soda if you were really desperate =). They will do this because the alkalinity of the powder will cancel out (or at least reduce the content) of the acid through what is know as neutralization.
