Bholi was a very shy

girl. She used to stammer. But a lot of change took place in her personality after

she joined school.

Her teacher helped to change the direction of her life. She

showered a lot of love and affection on her and gave her a new hope. She helped

her to gain confidence and faith in herself.

Bholi's  teacher asked her to give up all her fears. It

was because of her teacher's guidance that Bholi developed her personality. She

learned to face all the problems of life with courage and confidence.

Towards the end of the story, Bholi was referred

to by her real name Sulekha because she had grown wiser and more self

confident. All this was possible because of her education and her teacher’s

training. Her life showed that education was like a philosopher’s stone which

could turn a base metal into gold
