HELLO friend!!
Rajdeep here...

Doctor's Journal Entry for August 6, 1945 is a symbolic poem written by Vikram Seth. The poem is about the cruel and brutal act of aggression that the US did on Japan. The US, without any warning, threw the bomb "Little Boy" on the Japanese city of Hiroshima just to make Japan surrender to end the Second World War.

The poem shows about how the life of people began on the day and how it was destroyed. The first line indicates hoe pleasant the day was:
"The morning stretched calm, beautiful and warm".
The narrator was not even fully dressed. He was in a good mood. But who knew, that the day was a day of devastation?

I'm a ICSE student....
Best of luck for coming Monday....

This poem revolves around the theme of destruction caused by the bombing of Hiroshima.......The narration in the poem is carried out by a doctor who describes how everybody were leading a normal life, when suddenly a calamity fell on them. The poem begins on a calm note where the people where preparing for their daily routine, but it ends very sadly coz many people died coz of bombing of hiroshima on August,6 1945

Hope it helps u!!
