arrogance does not assure immortality and durability against all powerful time nature the poem highlights the vanity of human glory and power everything in the world positions with the passage of time under the powerful influence of the elements of nature even the mightiest skin becomes one with the dust no trace of them is left on the Sands of Time Ozymandias the King of Egypt was proud of his glory and the powers and achievements he decide immortalize his names and got a statue built but nothing remains against time and the powerful elements of nature the broken statues symbolises the destruction caused by time and the stands alone boundless and bear symbolise the power of elements

the poet wants to convey the vanity of human greatness and the failure of all attempts to immortalise human grandeur. Ozymandias the great king of Egypt has statue made in order to immortalize himself . but the time play havoc with his statue and now it lie broken and dis figured in a desert.
