What metals are important in present day India? Why? Where do they come from?

Metals such as Iron, Steel, aluminum, copper, tin etc are very essential for survival. These metals are excavated from minerals which are discovered from various parts of India such as Jharkhand, Orissa and Madhya Pradesh. Moreover, these places are occupied by tribals. When industries develop in order to obtain metals, tribals are forcibly dismissed and their environment is suffered because their sources of subsistence formerly dismissed. The restoration plans have also disappointed to help the tribals to the due to administration failures of government.

Metal ores like iron and copper, and gold and silver, coal and diamonds, invaluable timber, most medicinal herbs and animal products (wax, lac, honey) and animals themselves (elephants, the mainstay of imperial armies), all came from the forests. And the adivasis live in the forests.Jan
