Salt and sand can easily be separated by mixing both of them in water.

Explanation:

• Since we all know that salt will and can dissolve in water however, sand can not. Hence sand will settle at the bottom of the flask separating the two.

• Later, one has to filter the solution and evaporate the water to obtain salt back.
