What might happen to a
pebble plant in the heat of

If the pebble plant had a large flat body, it would not be able to store much water in it, and there is already less water in deserts, where pebble plants live. Also it increases surface area exposed to the sun so water in them will get evaporated fast and then will dry up and die.
