Answer:

w = 3×10^{-6} J , w =1.08J

Explanation:

given,

  • charge q = 3.00 uC
  • great distance away (take r = infinite) to a point 0.500 m from a charge Q = 20.0 uC

to find,

    work done by external force

solution,

  •  W (external) = q Δv

                    =q (v₀ - v∞)

                    =q (k Q/r)

                      w = 3×10^{-6} J

  • W (external) = q Δv
  •                     =q (v₀ - v∞)
  •                     =q (k Q/r)
  •                     = 3×10^{-6}×g×10^{g}×20×10^{-6}/0.5

                 W   =1.08J
