• For example, when sugar is dissolved in water, then all the sugar particles are uniformly distributed in the water. Also, the mixture exists in a single liquid form.

However, heterogeneous mixtures do not have uniform composition. In the mixture of sand and water, sand is not uniformly distributed in the water. Also, sand and water exist in two different forms, as the sand settles at the bottom.
