There is one scene in Spirited Away that is deceptively integral to the moral of the film. In fact this scene serves as a microcosm of the point of Spirited Away, as well as the arc of its protagonist: Chihiro.
It follows the scene where Chihiro visits her pig parents with Haku around the middle of the picture. After the emotional trauma Chihiro must feel, the two friends sit in a park.
Seeing that Chihiro is distraught, Haku gives her a sort of magical cake which he says will help her regain her strength. Chihiro eats the cake, only to finally break out in tears.
