The message that this poem conveys is the message of timely consecration and dedication to God.

The poet lost his eye sight in his fifties; the poet felt he could have better used his eyesight in writing something to praise God.

Another message that has been conveyed through the poem is the value of patience. The poet feels those who have patience only can best serve God, though God requires no one’s service.

The sonnet " On His Blindnes" by Milton teaches all of us a moral lesson. It is about the mightiness as a weapon to bring success. Hence it is all about patience.

Human life indeed is filled with ups and down. It is never easy.

Even the richest man has worries. However after death it is eternal peace.
