from the mouth food is made into a round ball like structure called bolus. this bolus moves through the oesophagus by its Peristaltic movement downward and reaches the stomach. in the stomach the food mixes thoroughly with the help of churning movements of the stomach. from the stomach the food called chyme moves to the intestine by the same Peristaltic movement.
