43 should be added

-43 should not be added cuz generally remainders are subtracted from the dividend to make it divisible by divisor so if we subtract -43 from 2x³- 8x² - x + 3 - ( -43) then it will be 2x³ - 8x² - x + 3 + 43

which will give 2x³ - 8x² - x + 46 which makes it divisible by ( x + 2) , hence u can directly write that 43 should be added to the polynomial.
