Let the no. be x..

Acc. to the question,
x+(-3/8) =5/16
x-3/8 =5/16
x=(5/16)+(3/8)
x=(5+6)/16
x =11/16

Thus,
We should add 11/16 to -3/8 to get 5/16.....

B/Q
x+(-3/8) = 5/16
=> x-3/8 = 5/16
