Concept

Arrange the given numbers in descending order to form the largest number. Arrange the given numbers in ascending order to form the smallest number.

Given

We have given these digits 1,3,5,4,2,7  and 2,5,7,8,9,0 to form smallest number and greatest number respectively.

Find

We are asked to determine the difference between greatest number and smalllest number.

Solution

On, arranging the 1,3,5,4,2,7 digits in ascending order (increasing) , we get  1,2,3,4,5,7 hence, the smallest number is 123457.

On arranging the 2,5,7,8,9,0 digits in descending order (decreasing ) , we get  9,8,7,5,2,0 hence , the greatest number is 987520 .

Difference =Greatest-smallest

                  =987520-123457\\

                  =864063

Hence, 864063 should be added to the smallest number to get the sum as greatest number .
