Let y should be added ,

x^4 -x^3 +x^2 + x+3 + y = x^4 + x^2 -1

y = x^4 + x^2 -1 - x^4 +x^3 -x^2 -x-3

y = -4 -x +x ^3

Now,

x^3 -x -1

should be subtracted

i hope this will help you

Hello friends!!

Here is ur answer :

Let the number added be a

 {x}^{4}  -  {x}^{3}  +  {x}^{2}  + x + 3 + a =  {x}^{4}  +  {x}^{2}  - 1

 a =   {x}^{4} +  {x}^{2}    - 1 \: - {x}^{4}   +   {x}^{3}   -   {x}^{2}   - x  - 3

a =  -  {x}^{3}  - x - 4

HOPE IT HELPS YOU...
