what must be added to x³-3x²-12x+19 so that the result in exactly divisible by x²+x-6...?? I ve got rhe answer after dividing it which is -2x-5. but the correct answer in 2x+5 why did the signs change???please answer!

According to the rules of long division the original signs change so as to make it simpler to cancel out terms

see when the term was negative it was multiplied by -1 to derive at a positive value so that we add sth not subtract. When they simply write subtract ,multiply the outcome with +1. hope it helps you if further any problems msg me on this website only I'll clear all the doubts
