Given : 2p²– pq + 5q²    and  -4p² + 3pq-2q²

To Find : What must be subtracted from 2p²– pq + 5q²  to get  -4p² + 3pq-2q²

Solution:

Let say N must be subtracted from 2p²– pq + 5q²  to get  -4p² + 3pq-2q²

=> 2p²– pq + 5q² - N =  -4p² + 3pq-2q²

=> 2p²– pq + 5q² - (-4p² + 3pq-2q²)  = N

=>  2p²– pq + 5q² + 4p² - 3pq + 2q² = N

=> 6p²– 4pq + 7q² = N

Hence  6p²– 4pq + 7q² must be subtracted from 2p²– pq + 5q²  to get  -4p² + 3pq-2q²
