Let y be subtracted from p(x)

∴8x^4+14x^3−2x^2+7x−8−y is exactly divisible by g(x)

∵ The Remainder should be 0

∴ 14x−10−y=0 or y=14x−10 (using the hint)

∴(14x−10) should be subtracted from p(x) so that it will be exactly divisible by g(x).

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

4x² + 8x - 6 is must be subtracted from 8x⁴ + 14x³ - 2x² + 7x - 8 so that the resulting polynomial is exactly divisible by 4x²+ 3x - 2.
