Spend time with other members of the community.
The best way to preserve your culture is to keep it alive. Gather as a group not just for holidays, but for ordinary meals, events, or just conversation. Many aspects of culture are difficult to learn in books and museums, including etiquette, body language, and humor.
Answer:
This is a very good question. It is difficult to maintain something that becomes obsolete. It is important to keep it active and in use by the young. Case in point the old languages in Europe that are dying out. Languages like Romanza and old languages in Russia: They are dying out because the young do not use it. There is no ‘pop’quality .. no modern poetry or use. The only ones who know it are the aged and as they die out they take the language with them.
Therefore it is vital to make sure the young are actively participating and enjoying the culture.
Importantly, it cannot be only in schools and as a ‘studied’ class. It must bed in full interaction just like the culture the young adopt.
The adults are key in encouraging this in the young. The home sphere is vital. Schools are too stilted in teaching culture.
