the ratio is 3:5
after adding a no. = x
the ratio becomes= 5:6

According to question
3+x/5+x = 5/6

cross multiplication
6(3+x) / 5(5+x) = 1
18 + 6x / 25 +5x = 1
18 + 6x = 25 +5x
6x - 5x = 25 - 18
x = 7
So when 7 is added to the ratio 3:5 is become 5:6
