Q: What number should be subtract from 3/4 to get -1/2 ?

Let the certain number be x

A/q

=> 3/4 - x = -1/2

=> - x = -1/2 - 3/4

=> - x = - (-2-3)/4 = - (-5/4)

So,
x = -5/4 [ Because minus sign of both sides are canceled ]

Hence,
The certain number is - 5/4

let the number is x

According to the given question -

 \dfrac{3}{4} - x = \dfrac{ - 1}{2}

 x = \dfrac{ - 1}{2} - \dfrac{3}{4}

 x = \dfrac{ - 2 - 3}{4} = \dfrac{ - 5}{4}

 x = \dfrac{ - 5}{4}

x = \dfrac{ - 5}{4}

Hence :

-5/4 should be subtracted from 3/4 to get -1/2.
