Answer:

Let x be the unknown number

 -  \frac{8}{5}  - x =  - 2

 \frac{ - 8 - 5x}{5}  =  - 2

 - 8 - 5x =  - 10

 - 5x =  - 10 + 8

 - 5x =  - 2

cancelling - on both the sides

x =  \frac{2}{5}

Verification:

 -  \frac{8}{5}    -  \frac{2}{5}  =  0

 -  \frac{10}{5}  =  0

if u cancel this u will get - 2

it means that 2/5 is the correct answer

Let the number be x

According to the question

 \frac{ - 8}{5}  - x = -  2 \\   \frac{ - 8}{5}   + 2 = x \\  \frac{ - 8  +  10}{5}  = x \\  \frac{2}{5 } = x \\   x =   \frac{ 2}{5}
