Question:-

What number has to be added to each term of 3:5 to make the ratio 5:6

Solution:-

3:5 =

 \frac{3}{5}

5:6 =

 \frac{5}{6}

Let the number to be added be x

So, According to question

 \frac{3 + x}{5 + x}  =  \frac{5}{6}

Cross multiply

6(3 + x) = 5(5 +x)

18 + 6x = 25 + 5x

6x - 5x = 25 - 18

x = 7

Final Answer:-

The number to be added is 7

Option b is correct
