Hy there,
Let the no be x
Implies
3+x/5+x=5/6
Implies 6(3+x)=5(5+x)
18+6x=25+5x
6x-5x=25-18
Implies x=7
7 should be added
Proof-
3+7/5+7=10/12=5/6
Hope it helps.
Thanks

Let the no be x

Implies

3+x/5+x=5/6

Implies 6(3+x)=5(5+x)

18+6x=25+5x

6x-5x=25-18

Implies x=7

7 should be added

In ratio multiplication or division of each and every term of a ratio by the same non- zero number does not affect the ratio.

Proof-

3+7/5+7=10/12=5/6

And

3/5+x=5/6

so x= 5/6-3/5 = 7/30

Let the number to be added be x , then =(2+x):(3+x)=4:5

=> 2+x3+x=45

=> 5(2+x)=4(3+x)

10+5x=12+4x

5x−4x=12−10

x=2
