What number must be added to each term of the ratio 3:8 so that ratio becomes 2:3.​

3:8 = 3/8

2:3 = 2/3

Let the added no. be x

So,

3/8 + x = 2/3

x = 2/3 - 3/8 ( L.C.M. of 3 and 8 =24 )

x = ( 2×8 - 3×3 ) / 24

x = ( 16 - 9 ) / 24

x = 7/24
