if 3 is added to 7,it is 10.
7+3=10
if same 3 is added to 5 ,it is 8.
5+3=8
now,. 10:8=5:4
then 3 is the number you wanted..

AdiN05517: hey! we have to add the same number to both the sides. not two different numbers! pls read the question properly, and edit your answer
siva315: k misreading.
AdiN05517: now it's ok

Hi friend!

<marquee direction="right" behavior="alternate">Answer:</marquee>

[tex]3 is the required answer.[tex]

On adding 3 to 7, we get:
7 + 3 = 10

On adding 3 to 5, we get:
5 + 3 = 8

The ratio of 10 to 8 is:
10 : 8
which is
5 : 4

Hope you found my answer helpful. Keep Smiling!

shivam7384: but from where you get 3 i want to know that
siva315: let the required number be X and multiple of the other ratio be Y
siva315: we will get 7+X=5Y and 5+X=4Y.....on solving these,we get X=3....and that is the answer
shivam7384: thanks
