Given:

An average of 13 is obtained when a number is added to the sequences 7, 13 and 10.

To find:

The number.

Solution:

Let the number be x which is added to the sequence 7, 13 and 10 to get an average of 13.

Now, we know that,

average  \: of \: given \:  numbers=  \frac{sum \: of \:given \:  numbers}{number \: of \: values \: that \: are \: added}

Thus, as given,

the average of four numbers 7, 13, 10 and x is 13.

Hence, we have,

 \frac{7 + 13 + 10 + x}{4}  = 13

30 + x = 52

x = 52 - 30 = 22

Hence, the number that is added to the given sequence 7, 13 and 10 to get an average of 13 is 22.

So, the correct answer is 22.
