What number should add to -4/9 to get 5/9

let the number required be 'x'

therefore

x+(-4/9)=5/9

x=5/9+4/9

x=9/9=1

x=1

Hey Mate,

Let the number be x,

A/Q:

-4/9 + x = 5/9

x = 5/9+4/9

x = (4+5)/9

x = 9/9 = 1
