What number should appear next in this sequence? 2304 ; 288 ; 48 ; 12 ; ?

The next number is 6.
2304/288=8
288/48=6
48/12=4
12/x=2
x=12/2
x=6

288 / 6 = 48
48 / 4 = 12
12 / 2 = 6
