Given :  number should be added to 11/7 so as to get -1/3

To Find : Number

Solution:

Let say number N  should be added to 11/7 so as to get -1/3

=> N + 11/7  = -1/3

Subtracting 11/7 from both side

=>  N + 11/7  - 11/7  = - 1/3  - 11/7

=>  N  = -1/3  - 11/7

=> N = - ( 1/3  + 11/7)

Taking LCM = 21

=> N = - ( 7 + 33)/21

=> N = - 40/21

Hence -40/21 should be added to 11/7 so as to get -1/3
