 \frac{11 \times 2}{8 \times 2} -   \frac{5 \times 1}{16 \times 1}

16 is LCM so...

multiply so we get 22-5

 \frac{22 - 5}{16}

 \frac{17}{16}

so \:  \frac{17}{16}  \: should \: be \: added
