Ans.

Let us consider a number as x to be added to -5/7 to get -2/3

So, -5/7 + x = -2/3

x = -2/3 + 5/7

let us take LCM for 3 and 7 which is 21

x = (-2×7 + 5×3)/21

= (-14 + 15)/21

= 1/21

∴ the required number is 1/21

Step-by-step explanation:

 \frac{ - 2}{3} -   \frac{ - 5}{7}

lcm \:  = 21

 \frac{ - 2 \times 7}{3 \times 7}  =   \frac{ - 14}{21}

 \frac{ - 5 \times 3}{7 \times 6}  =  \frac{ - 15}{21}

 \frac{ - 14 - (-15 )}{21}  = \frac{ - 14  +  15 }{21}

 =  \frac{1}{21}

hope it will help you
