Answer :-

Let the number be x.

\rightarrow{\sf{\dfrac{-5}{8} + x = \dfrac{-3}{2}}}

\rightarrow{\sf{x = \dfrac{-3}{2} + \dfrac{5}{8}}}

\rightarrow{\sf{x = \dfrac{-12 + 5}{8}}}

\rightarrow{\sf{x = \dfrac{-7}{8}}}

Verification :-

Take L.H.S. ;

\rightarrow{\sf{\dfrac{-5}{8} + \dfrac{-7}{8}}}

\rightarrow{\sf{\dfrac{-12}{8}}}

\rightarrow{\sf{\dfrac{-3}{2} = R.H.S.}}

Hence, Verified !!

\boxed{\sf{\dfrac{-7}{8} \ should\ be\ added.}}
