What number should be added to each term of the ratio 3 : 5 such that ratio becomes 4 : 5

let the number added be x so

3+x / 5+x = 4 /5

5 ( 3+ x ) = 4 ( 5+x )

15 +5x = 20 + 4x

5x - 4x = 20-15

x = 5 so number added is 5
