Answer :

  • -19/60 should be added to 7/12 to 4/15.

To find :

  • What number should be added to 7/12 to get 4/15

Solution :

  • Let the number be x

Now, A number should be added to 7/12 to 4/15 so,

According to this,

》x + 7/12 = 4/15

》x = 4/15 - 7/12

Now , we have to take LCM of 15 and 20 we Get,

  • LCM of 15 and 20 = 60

》x = 4/15 - 7/12

》x = 16 - 35 / 60

》x = -19/60

Hence , -19/60 should be added to 7/12 to 4/15.

More Explanation :

  • LCM is the least common multiple
  • HCF is the highest common factor
  • LCM is nothing but a multiple of two other number and also a smallest number
  • Example : Multiple of 2 are 2,4,6,8,5,12,14,16,18,20
  • Multiple of 3 are 3,6,9,12,15,18,21,27,30
  • So , Least common multiple of 2 and 3 are 6 , 12 and 18
  • Formula of HCF and LCM are Product of two numbers = HCF of two numbers × LCM of the two numbers
