Let the number be 'x'
x + 15% of x = 230
115% of x = 230
115x/100 = 230

We take 115/100 to the other side.

x = 230 * 100/115
x = 2 * 100 (230 and 115 were cancelled by dividing them which gave 2)
x = 200

Hence, the number is 200

chiragbhansali: 100% = 100/100, 15% = 15/100. 100% of x + 15% of x = 115% of x
